Program

Design of the Tramway des Maréchaux Sud stations and street furniture.

The T3 serves 17 stations between Pont du Garigliano (15th arrondissement) and Porte d'Ivry (13th arrondissement). Everything has been redesigned: thanks to specific traffic lanes, the different modes of transport are better taken into account to make everyday life easier for everyone.

Widened, planted with trees and lightened of superfluous street furniture, the pavements become real places to walk, with benches near certain stations. The roadway is grassed over 2/3 of the route. The stations function as planted oases and are equipped with furniture designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, extending Antoine Grumbach’s ideas on the place of trees, the transparency of the place and the light.

The urban furniture created enhances the stations in harmony with the city: shelters, displays, benches, barriers, litter bins, seats, line supports. The shelters have a fully illuminated surface. The furniture is very characteristic, brown, the historic colour of the city’s furniture, to blend in with the trees, and stainless steel, characteristic of the technical world of the RATP. It is an elegant combination of curves and counter-curves.
